Mockingbird Fest – A Sneak Peek into SA’s Most Texas Fest

John Stienbeck put it best when he said, “Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word.”

And what better way to deal with an obsession, than to celebrate it? This Saturday, March 5, Hemisfair plans to do just that, hosting the first annual Mockingbird Fest.

Beginning at 10am, at the Yanaguana Garden, the free festival will honor Texas Independence Day, and all things, well, Texas. Mockingbird Fest, whose name pays tribute to our state bird, will feature interactive activities, and the sounds and flavors native to the Lone Star state.
